Can a disposal unit be fitted to any sink?
Most stainless and composite sinks with a standard 90mm waste opening take a unit. We check the opening size and cupboard depth before quoting.
Will it block my drains?
Not when used correctly with plenty of cold water. Fibrous waste, fat and bones are what cause problems — we'll run through what to avoid.
My unit hums but doesn't turn — can you fix it?
Usually yes. That's a jammed impeller; we free it, check the reset and confirm the motor is still sound.
Do I need an electrician as well?
Only if there's no switched fused spur under the sink. We'll tell you at survey and can arrange it.
